The Knight
The Bower Files

Agent Patrick Bowers is a widower struggling to do his job as well as connect with his stepdaughter (who is acting out following her mother’s death). Specializing in geospacial investigation, Bowers analyzes the different locations of the criminal and the victim, trying to assess where the crime might have occurred. As a spate of killings occur, it is up to Bowers to figure out who the serial killer before he becomes the final victim.

If I ever read mystery, it is always a cozy one, which is definitely nothing like The Knight! From the very beginning of the book, it is a page turner. But the story picks up tremendous speed and excitement as it progresses. The relationship between Patrick and his stepdaughter is very real and believable. The killing scenes, while gruesome to read, was fascinating in that I felt that much of the details was left up to the readers imagination. Allowing imagination free run, especially for a story like this, is not a good idea! The novel is very well written. While the previous books in the series are not necessary, I think it would be beneficial to read them mainly because you would get to see the progression of the relationship between Patrick and his stepdaughters and the creation of the villains in the current story. I am definitely looking forward to the next installment!
